Last August, the L&R team headed to Spain’s Costa Brava in Catalonia to produce an unforgettable 4-day wedding for the wonderful Alyssa and Macià. Thanks to the team at Martha Stewart Weddings for the recent feature!
The celebrations began with an informal reception at the super cool coastal restaurant Nomo Nautic. This event was hosted by the bride’s brother and was attended by the younger guests. Meanwhile the parents and their friends enjoyed a tour of the Cap Roig botanical gardens followed by dinner.
The welcome event on day-2 began with drinks, finger food and the sounds of Spanish guitar. The setting was an archaeological site by the water featuring Greek and Roman ruins, giant parasol pine trees and rugged coastlines. Dinner at a nearby restaurant followed, with lavish live cooking stations and local specialities prepared by the head chef, who used to work at the famous El Bulli restaurant (voted best restaurant in the world 5 times between 2002 and 2009).
The wedding day ceremony and reception were in two different venues, the challenge here was to create a design concept that could work well in both venues and fit together seamlessly. The Roman ruins in which the ceremony took place were incredibly inspiring, as was the private estate where the reception and party took place.
The weekend came to a close on day-4 with a relaxed recovery pool party at the wedding reception venue.
Working in Spain was a first for us, we could not have done it without all of the incredible local vendors we sourced to work along side us as well as those that followed us from France and elsewhere.
Moltes gràcies a tots!
